Description: APFC panels with 215 kVAR power capacitors connected in denominations of 5 address several problems related to demand management, optimum use of electricity, fixed charges penalty and so on, due to frequent operation of heavy loads like cranes, welding and plasma machines. The plant loading pattern, machine operations and other electrical parameters are studied in detail for a complete solution and these machines operate at their optimum capacity with lowest power consumption without paying any penalty due to demand management problem. Reinstalling existing and old power capacitors in down stream of plant nearer to heavy loads reduce T&D losses within plant in long running cables and to cater reactive power requirement of motive loads.
