Profile: ATB Laurence Scott Ltd specializes in designing & manufacturing high & low voltage AC & DC electric motors and electro-mechanical power trans-mission products which include generators, gearboxes, geared motors, eddy current variable speed drives, electro-pneumatic clutches & brakes. High voltage motors comprises sales and design engineering for AC induction motors up to 20MW and DC motor/generators up to 3MW. These motors are used in a variety of industrial and marine applications, driving air & gas compressors, axial & centrifugal fans, and pumps for water, effluent, crude & fuel oils, as well as high-density gases used in nuclear power reactor cooling. The P series high voltage motor covers ratings up to 20MW for supply voltages from 3.3kV to 13.8kV at 50Hz or 60Hz. Machines with centre height of 450 to 710 utilise box frames of fabricated steel construction with end shield mounted bearings, while machines of centre height 900 and above are of unit construction with pedestal mounted bearings. The rigid steel fabricated base plate has machined facings to provide seatings for the stator corepack, bearing pedestals and enclosure.
