Description: Air heaters are devices used to heat air. Tubular and finned rod elements are used in various industrial and domestic equipments where heating is required. These elements are used for heating of air for incubators, convection and forced air circulation ovens, food storage cabinets and air conditioning plants. The finned rods may be used for low temperature air heating and are generally preferred for industrial ovens, air conditioning plants, laundry equipments and shrink packaging machines. Tubular sheathred rod elements consists of a helically wound coil of 80/20 nickel chrome/Kanthal wire firmly embedded and compacted in mineral Mg insulation and centrally located in a tubular metal sheath. The robust terminals are welded to both ends of spiral and brought out of the sheath through damp proof seal. A portion of the elements at each end remains unheated. This inactive portion of the elements at each end may be increased when necessary. The following are the range of sheath materials used for various types of requirements - mild steel, SS304, SS316 incoloy 800, monel, aluminium and bronze. In addition, the elements may be plated or given special protective finishes.
