Air winches are used to move the cars, which run on standard-gauge track. They are used to assist in the sinking of the many winzes. Air winches have been placed in each of these shafts for the hauling of the debris and also for lowering timber. They are offered with a manual drum mounted band brake. All winches offered can be equipped with RAMs optional automatic drum mounted band brakes or other brake configurations. Air winches equipped with the slings are used at each deck level to effect the hoist.
