Low pressure die casting is a development of the permanent mold process in which metal is introduced into the chill mold from below. Gas pressure holds the metal in the die until it solidifies. In this order, gravity die casting is a permanent mold casting process where the molten metal is poured from a vessel or ladle, into the mold. The cavity fills with no force other than gravity where filling can be controlled by tilting the die.
