Amc Connector With Press-fit Technology
AMC Connector with Press-Fit Technology is designed to meet the mechanical and electrical requirements of PICMG (PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group) AMC.0, but with a press-in interface. The inclusion of the press-in option is scheduled for the next revision of the AMC.0 specification. The new Advanced AMC connector supports the high data transmission rates and low crosstalk required by the AMC.O specification. The optimized footprint enables for an easy routing. The use of 0.55 mm plated PCB holes provides robust and reliable press-fit mounting. The new press-fit design is optimized to provide significant cost and reliability advantages over other termination technologies. The press-in process allows the use of a standard flat rock die, thus requiring no special tooling. The connector is also available without pegs for applications in which the ATCA guiding system is not desired.
