Profile: Artemis, Inc. is specialized in providing Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) solutions. MicroASAR is a linear frequency modulated, continuous wave (LFM-CW) SAR system designed for low-power operation. It maintains a high SNR while transmitting with a lower peak power than a comparable pulsed SAR. It is designed to be operated in a bistatic configuration with a separate antenna for the receive channel in order to maximize transmit-receive isolation. The hardware is specifically designed so that signal feedthrough between transmit and receive antennas is removed by a SAW BPF early in the receiver chain. An enclosed digital subsystem generates the LFM chirp, stores the data, and performs rudimentary pre-storage processing such as filtering and presumming. The baseband signal is written to two flash memory cards accessible through the front panel of the system or transmitted via ethernet.
