Profile: Aurora Optics, Inc. is an engineering company specializing in solutions to measurement and communication problems using fiber optics. Our areas of expertise include fiber optic sensors, connectors, splices, cable assemblies, and optoelectronic systems. We provide comprehensive tech support for Aurora and Orionics fiber optic fusion splicers, including the models FW312, Fusion 3500, Fusion 3000, and Fase II. This includes service and repair, calibration, spare parts & training. We also design and build custom solutions & products based on Aurora/Orionics fusion splicing product line. Examples include high performance fiber cable repair/restoration, precision fiber alignment systems, fiber scanning, high voltage fiber end shaping and conditioning, fiber cleaning & fiber imaging. We have created the smallest hand-held fully automatic 3-axis aligning fusion splicer. About the size of a digital camera, the MiniMod fusion head can go anywhere up a ladder, hang from an overhead aerial strand, or into the tightest of cramped cabinets. Perfect for fiber to the home (FTTH), the MiniMod can splice within one inch of a closure, tray, junction box, wall, or conduit, minimizing the need for fiber slack. It can splice properly whether level, vertical, sideways, or even upside down.
