Diesel exhaust fluid transforms harmful nitrogen oxide emissions from diesel powered vehicles into harmless water vapor and nitrogen. This fluid is contained in a separate tank and sprayed from the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) systems into the exhaust gases.
