Bearing seals have two basic functions such as to keep contaminants out of the bearing and to keep the lubricant in the bearing. Bearing seals keep lubricant in the bearing and prevent dirt from entering the bearing. Bearing seals are made of felt material and used to keep lubricant around the bearing & keep dirt out.
