Description: The bi-metal contacts - Cladcon is made by putting the contact surface layer of silver/silver alloy, on a body of backing metal - electrolytic copper. The metallurgical bonding between these two materials makes Cladcon equally strong as a solid contact and still makes it most cost effective. ISO 9001-2000 certified production and stringent quality control systems ensure each Cladcon has uniform silver thickness and perfect bonding. The shank made up of electrolytic copper provides better thermal and electrical conductivity and also ensures longer life; and with increasing silver prices, lower silver content of Cladcon allows choice of larger contact compared to solid silver contact for getting improved current rating at mush lower cost. The Cladcon is normally made with contact layer having half of the head thickness. To suit specific requirements, variation on this ratio is also possible within practical limits. Contact layer of the Cladcon is made of silver alloys like silver-copper; silver nickel; silver cadmium or silver cadmium oxide. The various compositions of these alloys can be made as per the requirement specifications. The Cladcon can be supplied with silver plating, as per the requirement. Modison Metals, with over four decades of experience in producing electrical contacts and contact materials for electrical industry, is a supplier of bi-metal contacts - Cladcon.
