Brake/Meter injector belt consists of two consecutive belts mounted in a single frame. The first belt in line is the brake belt, which is a high friction design. The brake belt is commonly used for product hold back. The brake/meter section normally runs at about the same speed as incoming transport conveyor. The injector belt normally runs at the same speed as the switch. This combination of brake section and meter section creates the minimum gap between conveyed products in product stream, required by the switch in order to merge or divert products.
