Cam & Groove Coupling
Description: Cam and groove coupling is offered. Accepted as an international standard in many industries, the cam and groove coupling is recognised as a coupling that gives the fastest and simplest tight connection and permits maximum flow of media. These are made of precision castings having excellent metallurgy and physical material property. The life of the seal used in these couplings is maximum because the seal, which is compressed, is stationary and receives no friction and will not become worn-out or deformed. It is fitted in a recess and will never fall out. The principle behind the design of camlock coupling is simple. Cam arms fitted on pivot pins get locked in the adaptor groove, so that when line pressure attempts to force, the camlock coupler and adaptor apart, the bottom edge of the adaptor groove pushes with the equal pressure against the underedge of the cam arm increasing the locked action. All the couplings pass through a hydrostatic test of minimum 500 PSI, 35 kg/cm2. Applications include transfer of fluids, paints, oil, grease, water and chemicals. Features include fast and simple tight connection; interchangeability; positive locking and greater resistance to vibration; better flow characteristics; no ball bearings, threadings, twisting springs, snaps, tools, lugs; tightness under pressure and vacuum; and durability. Brief specifications: sizes available - ½" to 6"; materials - carbon steel, SS304, SS316, aluminium, bronze, glass filled nylon; end connections - threaded, hose shank, weld end and flanges; and seals - nitrite, neoprene, viton and Teflon.
