Our 5000 Bodymaker is used for production of steel or aluminum DWI cans at high speeds and efficiencies. The increase in speed is made possible by a greatly simplified drive mechanism, with the main drive connected directly to the crankshaft. Using sophisticated computer modeling techniques, the crankshafts are overbalanced to minimize vibration. To improve reliability, an air bag based hold down mechanism is used to control the cup re-draw tooling. It has a hydraulic clutch/brake system to provide reliable machine control, with minimal maintenance. Our refurbishment or re-working components include clutches and brakes, Bodymaker crankshafts, quills, main bearings, and primary connecting rods.
