Description:
The cathodic electro coating (CED) plants are offered by Coatec India. These systems range from 750 Itr to 50,000 ltr capacity. Even customised larger plant of 50 KL capacity is offered at much lower price than conventional costs. It redefines material handling with fully automated lines. Electrocoat is the process of depositing an organic coating on a clean metal substrate after phosphate pre-treatment. This is an electro chemical reaction. Both anodic and cathodic technologies are widely used. However, it is the cathodic electro deposited epoxy coating system that is now prevalent worldwide because of its unmatched corrosion protection. The electrocoat advantages: unmatched technology, history of over four decades, mature system with transfer efficiency in excess of 90%, low cost of coating material, precise control on coating thickness with very high predictability, very easy to automate and low labour costs. The parts can be racked densely and provide for a very high throughput and the system is considered a benchmark for corrosion protection. On the environment front, this technology has low to no HAPS and ultra-low VOC and the coating chemicals are free of heavy metals. The coating process works in a closed loop ensuring minimal waste water discharge. Both OSHA and EPA compliant technologies are available. The general process includes knock off degreasing, degreasing, water rinse, activation, phosphating, water rinse, recirculated DI water rinse, DI water rinse, electrocoat, permeate rinse 1, permeate rinse 2, DI water rinse and bake. However, each line is evaluated by experts from the paint company and the appropriate process is recommended. The plant is then designed on the basis of the process recommended by the paint company.
