Cemented carbides, or hardmetals as they are often called, are materials made by cementing very hard tungsten monocarbide (WC) grains in a binder matrix of tough cobalt metal by liquid phase sintering. It provides element of wear resistance, strength and toughness essential for the efficient performance of wear resistant parts used in every corner of today's industry. It is used in applications such as metal-cutting, mining, mineral & civil engineering, agricultural, food electronics, weaving, textiles, paper, wood, and timber processing.
