Description: Centrifugal fans blow air at right angles to the intake of the fan, and spin (centrifugally) the air outwards to the outlet. An impeller rotates, causing air to enter the fan near the shaft and move perpendicularly from the shaft to the opening in the scroll-shaped fan casing. A centrifugal fan produces more pressure for a given air volume, and is used where this is desirable such as in leaf blowers, air mattress inflators, and various industrial purposes. Impellers are backward curved with radial blades which prevent sticky dusts from adhering to the blades. These are highly efficient and less noisy. It is highly efficient compared to the aerofoil bladed impellers. It is designed to meet high static pressures, large volumes and also to handle high dust concentration. It ranges from 250 m 3 /hr to 200000 m 3 /hr up to 1000mm WG. The materials that are used for construction are mild steel, rubber lined, FRP and stainless steel to suit the application. The fans are provided with a special wear resistant lining to handle high abrasive dusts. These fans are built and test as per I.S. specifications.
