Our hybrid bearing consists of an ion doped inner & outer race, ceramic balls and a vacuum compatible moly disulfide compound retainer. The ion doped races are bonded solids designed to reduce friction and wear by interposing between the bearing surfaces a thin, adherent film lubricant that shears easily and prevents metal to metal contact. A variety of materials are used depending on the environment and applicant of the bearings. Using dry film lubricants instead of oils & greases enhances the ability of the bearings to perform in hazardous environment and in vacuum chambers.
