A single turn wave spring is simply a leaf spring in a helical series while a multi-turn wave spring will give you the additional abilities of a compression spring. These types of springs offer reduced operational height but can still handle the same loads as a compression spring, which makes them ideal for smaller assemblies or working in confined areas.
