Coriolis mass flowmeter is based on the Coriolis effect that offers mass flow measurements for both liquid and gases that do not require treatment process measurement compensations. This flowmeter use Coriolis deflection to measure mass flow rate. Coriolis flowmeters can measure flow through the tube in either the forward or reverse directions. In most designs, the tube is anchored at two points and vibrated between these anchors. It is calibrated on water, because the constants are valid for all other liquids. They utilize a curved shape pipe or sensor tube that is subjected to carefully controlled electromagnetic vibrations at its natural frequency while fluid is moving through it. They are also constructed of stainless steel providing a high resistance to corrosion. Coriolis flow meters are suitable for conventional as well as contaminated and non-Newtonian fluids.
