Our BFGoodrich cut & chip tester is performed on a prepared disk shaped specimen mounted on a rotating shaft. The disk is impacted by a tungsten carbide knife with a precision ground cutting edge. The eccentric applies the knife at a specified frequency for a specified time, both of which are selectable within a range. The pneumatic cylinder present in the tester lifts the knife support arm at the completion of a pre-selected test time. The resistance to cutting and chipping is based upon the loss of material over the duration of the test. Our BYK-Gardner™ 'scrub' abrasion tester model AG-8100 is used for include testing the efficiency of cleansing agents, such as detergents & cleaners, testing the durability of an abrading or cleaning device, such as scouring pads and scrub brushes.
