Description: Electro Chemical Analyser manufactured by our company is used to perform gravimetric analysis of non-ferrous metals and alloys. The analyser is built in a wooden cabinet with overall dimensions 10' x 12' x 21', weighing approximately 15 kg, and lined with anti-corrosive material Formica. The apparatus operates on 230 V AC, 5 A input giving an output of DC at 10 A at 12 V maximum. The precise quantity of sample that is to be analyzed is dissolved in strong acidic medium and desired electrolyte is prepared. This electrolyte is analysed with a suitable constant current through platinum/10% iridium electrodes - cathode and anode. The variation in weights of the electrodes before and after the electrolysis gives the weight of individual element. The instrument is supported with a stirrer with stepless speed regulator in glass rod and an autostat for regulating required electrolysis current. It has a pair of stainless steel holders for installing electrodes and set of 3 Kit-Kat fuses, 5 A mains, 1 and 10 A for DC ammeter; and adjustable height stainless steel beaker support. It has a double range DC ammeter 0-1/0-10 A with selector switch; DC voltmeter 0-15. Neon lamps and anodized labels are used to indicate the operations taking place.
