Electroless Nickel Plating

Company: Electroless Platers

Description: Electroless Nickel Plating is a non-conventional plating system where current is not used for deposition. As no current is used, plating on intricate parts with hole and deep recesses can be done with a uniform layer thickness. There is no excess build-up at edges or at corners and hence post-plating grinding operation is eliminated. ENI has surface hardness of 48 to 62 HRC with excellent bonding and the plated layer does not flake-off. Electroless nickel plating is suitable for complex shapes where uniform and controllable plating thickness is not possible by conventional electroplating process. This makes electroless coating the most suitable for plastic dies. The company regularly plates taper cavities, breaker plates, spiders and other extrusion die parts. Barrels for injection moulding machines are plated for non-stick property and for easy cleaning. Worn-out punches can be re-build to original dimensions by uniform coating with electroless nickel. This makes electroless coating superior to electroplating. ENI plating can be done on selective area also. Small parts difficult to plate individually, can be hard plated in barrel. The plating layer can be buffed to mirror finish.
