Profile: Ferrotec (Uk) Ltd. specializes in providing ferrofluid magnetic liquid. The ferrofluid is a stable colloidal suspension of sub-domain magnetic nano particles in a liquid carrier. The particles, which have an average size of about 100Å (10 nm), are coated with a stabilizing dispersing agent (surfactant) which prevents particle agglomeration even when a strong magnetic field gradient is applied to the ferrofluid. Our APG 300 series ferrofluids are primarily used for heat transfer. They can be exposed to temperature transients of up to 200°C, but to ensure longer life, operation above 110°C for extended periods should be minimized. These ferrofluids are durable under high humidity and in contact with water.
