Fire Fighting Foams Suppliers
Fire Fighting Foams attack fire spread factors by firstly excluding oxygen from the combustion zone, secondly by cooling the fuel below the ignition point and thirdly by trapping the fuel vapour at the liquid surface. The main use of fire fighting foams is for extinguishing burning liquids, such as petrol. The chemical composition of fire fighting foams is such as to support heat resistance. It also enhances film formation on the surface of the fuels. There are two categories of fire fighting foams, chemical and mechanical. Chemical foam is developed to combat coal and oil fires. It may be found in any of the many industrial operations involving the transportation, processing, or handling of flammable petroleum liquids, including refineries and offshore production platforms.
