Description: Flat lapping machines are precision engineered to lap, or polish all types of hard materials to a very high degree and surface finishes. Principle of operation: an accurately conditioned lapping plate rotates in the horizontal plane, on which, conditioning rings, also rotating freely in the direction of the lapping plate, carry the work pieces, with the surface to be lapped, in contact with the lapping plate. Suitably mixed lapping compound is fed onto the lapping plate, which laps/polishes the surface to be lapped, and the flatness of the lapping plate is transferred to the workpiece. The machine comprises a rigid, fabricated, box type construction, houses the driving mechanism consisting of motor, gearboxes and pulleys. It has a provision for raising or lowering the table, surrounding the lapping plate, so that the height of the guide rollers can be suitably adjusted when the lapping plate thickness gets reduced. In the larger models, proper provision is made for the operators to climb onto the table, if need be. The main spindle is driven by an electric motor, via a reduction unit, V -belts and CI pulleys. If required an AC variable drive can be supplied to vary the speed of lapping plates/discs. Generally the lapping compound is fed manually, but if required, a feeding unit can be provided, that doses the plate with abrasive, and can be regulated and controlled. The control panel, coupled to the base of the machine, houses a timer controlled motor, and depending upon the requirement, a variable speed drive along with all the switches can also be provided. These flat lapping machines are offered by Amolik Precision Machines.
