Gas Detector For Chlorine Gas features compact and lightweight, easy maintenance, quick-fit sensor replacement as well as explosion proof. The sensor is of two-electrode (controlled potential electrolysis) type operating under difflusion controlled conditions. The gas molecules diffuse through a membrane and are absorbed on a polarisable electro catalytic working electrode, where the electrochemically oxidised or reduced at an appropriate electrode potential. This electrochemical reaction results in an electric current, which under the diffusion limitations is directly proportional to the gas concentration. The electric current is amplified and indicated on a direct reading meter in PPM. The mounting of gas sensor with hole on JB is suitable for Group IIA & IIB with proper separate flame path having gas sensors made of brass construction. The gas detectors in cast aluminium alloy LM-6 are good for outdoor installations. The endless neoprene rubber gasket is placed over the flange outside the effective flame path for IP-55 ingress projection.
