Our ovation™ series automatic transfer switches, used in conjunction with a standby generator provide a convenient way to maintain power in a home or business during a power outage. This automatic transfer switch system senses when utility power shuts off, triggers a permanently installed generator to start and once the generator reaches a nominal output level, the household circuits are transferred to the generator. Gentran offers two types of switches for traffic signals, one that can retrofit any existing traffic pedestal and one that recesses into the pedestal cabinet, ideal for new intersections or new signal equipment. Regardless of the enclosure, the transfer switch includes all wires to the internal wiring of the traffic signal pedestal and when a power outage occurs, a worker can simply connect a generator cord between a portable generator & the transfer switch, turn on the generator breaker & begin delivering generator power to the traffic signal.
