Head press fit bushings are tubular steel guides used for conducting other fixture components or outside tools to the correct place on the surface of the workpiece. These are permanently pressed into the jig plate, with head to resist heavy axial loads. These are generally used for single-operation drilling or reaming, where the replacement of bushings is not required. The head can be left exposed, or recessed by counterboring the installation hole.
