Heat Exchanger
Description: Heat exchanger uses plate heat exchanger technology for efficient, indirect cooling of polymers. The heat exchanger consists of a series of vertical hollow stainless steel plates. Pellets or powder move slowly by gravity between the plates in mass flow. The heat transfer fluid flows through the plates and is counter current for improved efficiency. Below the plate bank a mass flow cone and rotary valve assembly or a vibrating feeder regulates product flow. Mass flow of bulk solids is ensured by a specially designed discharge configuration. Features include indirect heating and cooling, fully welded stainless steel plates, no contact between cooling medium and product, no cooling air or nitrogen required, no fans, no scrubbers, no bag houses and designed to pressure vessel codes ASME, TUV, PED Norm. Advantages like increased extrusion capacity by pre-heating feed, cooling polymers decreasing energy consumption, improved product quality, prevention of lumping in storage, avoidance of condensation in bags and increased powder production capacity by continuous cooling. Features for polymer exchangers include design - up to 50 TPH in a single unit, thermal capacity up to 2.5 M Kcal/hr, product discharge to within 10°C (or less) of cooling water temperature and multiple banks in series for increased capacity and improved thermal efficiency.
