Heating/cooling Mixer Combinations
Description: PHM/PCM heating/cooling mixer combinations are used in many fields of processing thermoplasts and elastomers. Typical processes are those which require step by step heating and cooling of the product. Specific requirements of products are frequently very diverse. In a high speed mixer, the heat generated due to friction is utilised for mixing, hence it is known as heater mixer. High speed mixers are used to mix solid to solid, liquid and pasty components. The heating phase in a heater mixer in the shortest possible cycle time is the decisive factor, but in many cases, the way in which friction is introduced into the product is of greater importance. The hot mixture should be cooled subsequently in cooler mixer in order to keep it in a free flow condition, suitable for storage, transportation and subsequent treatment and for PVC dry blend to be static-free, heat stabilised and stress-free. The cooling phase requires a large number of additional process steps. Good heat transfer co-efficient is necessary for obtaining short cooling times for high throughput capacities.
