We are engaged in the development and commercialization of superconducting microelectronics. Superconducting integrated circuits (ICs) represent a significant advance over existing semiconductor technologies. We develop second generation IC technology for superconductive electronics. This includes a reliable all-refractory niobium IC process that resolves the materials-related issues that had limited progress in the IBM Josephson computer program. The NF-100 shield degausser uses a slowly decaying sine wave to demagnetize mu-metal shields protecting superconducting circuitry. For best results we recommend using a double shield with a coil wrapped around the inner shield. Slowly decreasing the electrical current flowing through the coil in a low-field environment provides a very effective way to reduce residual magnetic fields which can cause flux trapping in superconducting circuits.
