Profile: Jasmin Coir Products is involved in the manufacturing of cocopeat based growing medium under the brand name of Wonder Peat. Our coir fiber is extracted from the fibrous outer cover of the fruit of the coconut palm with or without retting. Our raw material coir dust is collected from the fiber factories, transported and stored in the factory for a period of time for ageing. The factory has well-built infrastructure in terms of plant & machinery and quality control laboratory. It has the most modern machineries for the block and briquette manufacturing. In addition, most efficient technologies are used in operations like squeezing, drying, and packing. The incoming material is checked for EC and pH values to maintain its purity. The cocopeat or coir dust obtained from the fiber factories is washed, treated, dried and compacted to different specifications. The cocopeat has emerged as an ideal alternative to peat moss as a growing medium in the horticulture and floriculture industry. The cocopeat also called as coir pith or coir peat is obtained as a by-product during the fiber extraction of coconut husks. Its high water holding capacity (WHC) and air filled porosity (AFP) makes it an ideal growing medium. It is used as potting mix, growing medium, seed propagator, soil conditioner & mushroom casting media, and also as an organic manure. The drying process is undertaken in the vast and expensive cemented yard free from foreign particles. At this level, the test for moisture of the materials is done. Once the moisture level of the material is reached, it gets ready for screening. The revolving screeners and sand separator are used to remove the outside substances, if any present, in the dried material. Then the material will be ready for compaction.
