Profile: Kato Precision (UK ) Ltd. is a manufacturer of precision components. Our product line includes tangless coil thread inserts, coil springs, hinges, wire forms, and flat springs and pressings. Our tangless coil thread inserts are made of cold-rolled 304 stainless steel wire (AS7245), work-hardened to a tensile strength above 200,000 psi, and a hardness of Rc 43-50. The finished surface (8-16 micro-inches) is exceedingly smooth, virtually eliminating friction-induced thread erosion. The stainless steel used resists corrosion under normal environmental conditions. Our compression springs are made from round, square, rectangular, trapezoidal, oval, or even special shaped wire cross sections, but round wire is by far the most common and easier to work with. The shape of the Compression Spring is mostly parallel sided i.e. of nominally constant diameter, but is often seen as a conical shape, and sometimes barrel or waisted (hourglass) shape.
