Water level indicators are portable instruments designed to measure the standing level of water in test wells, boreholes and similar underground cavities. The sensing probe is attached to a measured cable is lowered into the well. A light, buzzer or panel meter mounted on the instrument will indicate when water has been encountered. Measurements for depth are determined from the markings on the cable.
