Our wide flange beams, or "W" beams, are doubly symmetrical beams whose inside flanges are parallel. These can be used in construction as either beams, or columns. These are made from carbon steel with good weld-ability. These beams are classified by the depth, which is the distance between flanges, the flange width, and the web thickness. The weight is described per linear foot. "W" beams are in structural sizes, which mean the greatest dimension; excluding length is more than 3 inches.
