Profile: Knight Precision Wire specializes in the supply of aircraft locking wires to DTD189A and MS20995C, the manufacture of stainless steel control cables, and the production of bespoke high performance nickel alloys and copper alloys for springs and clips for components. Locking wire (safety lock wire) is a soft annealed wire that is used extensively in the aerospace, marine, and automotive industries to secure nuts, bolts & components which are subject to vibration or critical environment. We develop rolling square and shaped wires in a range of profiles using materials as diverse as mild steel, stainless steel and brass. We also produce half-round, hexagonal wire, and elliptical cross-section wire. Square wire is produced in stainless steel up to 4.0 mm square, and larger for non-ferrous materials. Half-round wire is produced up to 5.00 mm, again for stainless steel. The equipment used to produce these shaped wire profiles includes a range of Turkshead units, draw plates, and stainless steel rolls precision ground to give the wire it's precise profile.
