Profile: LPC Elements Ltd. manufactures rheostats, thermocouples, heating elements and power resistors. Power resistors are also supplied in a wide variety of styles and sizes with non-hygroscopic formers capable of withstanding severe thermal shock. Resistance wires and tapes are of nickel-chromium alloy, and windings are uniform throughout the length of the tube to prevent hot spots on load. Firing of the units takes place in automatic tunnel kilns where conditions are finely controlled to prevent any internal stresses which could otherwise cause crazing and a change in ohmic value with age.
