Description: Double-Sided Lapping & Polishing Machine operates on 4-way motion principal. This machine can be considered as a replacement to 2-way motion and 3-way motion machines, since the amount of machining time consumed by the latter is comparatively high. The parts are captured in a manner that allows them to conform to varying aspects of the 4-way system including: rotational speed and direction of the lower and upper plates in relation to the carriers; rotational/orbital motion of the carrier in relation to the speeds and directions of the lower and upper plates; and axial spin motion of the carrier in relationship to the speeds and directions of the lower and upper plates. The top and bottom plates rotate opposite to each other. The machine is equipped with variable speed drive system. It helps operator to set correct speed of plates and carriers required for the process. The soft start/stop mechanism prevents the cracking and chipping of jobs that tends to occur at the start or finishing of process. It provides continuous homogeneous mixture of abrasive on the plates during the process and keeps on re-circulating the mixture until it is fully utilized efficiently. Thus it helps to control the consumable or process cost.
