Profile: Material Interface, Inc. specializes in Minimox™ surface treatment to form self-protective alloys. Minimox™ surface treatments are designed to boost alloy performance under challenging processing conditions of elevated temperature and/or corrosion. It can be applied in the field without special equipment using spray, brush, or dip. It can be applied inside and on complicated geometries. After coating, alloys heated in air exhibit a thin, adherent & dense scale, rather than a thick, flaking oxide scale. In many instances, the thin oxide layer provides astonishing corrosion resistance. The treatment causes the alloy to become more self-protective after thermal oxidation. Minimox™ surface treatment can be applied in heat treating pretreatment, aluminum alloy corrosion resistance, high temperature alloy improvement, furnace belt lifetime improvement, metal dusting reduction, and stainless steel oxidation resistance improvement. Minimox™ solution-coated and oxidized sections of 330-stainless furnace belt exhibit a protective barrier coating relative to uncoated sections. We conduct stainless steel surface & failure analysis along with analysis of a wide variety of other materials.
