Profile: Merlin Systems, Inc. specializes in electronic tracking devices. We design and manufacture radio transmitters & other telemetry tracking equipment for wildlife research & falcon tracking. Our products include collar transmitters, dart transmitters, falconry FMV series transmitters and anti-theft products. Our CLP-M and CMV-M series collar transmitter products are used in a wide range of species for wildlife research, pointing dogs, hunting dogs & pet tracking. These are powerful, long running transmitters currently available in two standard sizes. Both units are encased in a two piece, machined, high-density, poly-carbonate housing. Housings are gasket sealed, weatherproof and easily attached to most collar materials. These units operate on a variety of user specified frequencies from 140 MHz to 250 MHz. The transmitter circuits are offered in two basic configurations. One circuit is the CMV-M model. This is a crystal based oscillator circuit that emits a pulsed signal that can be tracked with any one of the variety of standard VHF receivers. The second is the CLP-M model which emits the same type of signal but the circuit is controlled by a microprocessor. This enables it to have a number of features including mortality sensing, motion/pointing indication, time out features, on/off timing, photo sensing and multiple pulsing. These transmitters are tracked in the same way with the same readily available and commonly used receiver/antenna systems.
