Profile: Michigan Carbide Co., Inc. is a producer and supplier of tungsten carbide preforms for the cold heading and fastener industries. We offer 9% cobalt to 25% cobalt grades of material. Our unique process provides size ranges of 1/2 inch to 3 1/2 inches diameters and up to 7 inches in length. We supply a wide variety of preformed shapes. Our MC-9 grade is used for certain wear parts where shock loads are light to moderate. It can be used for slitter knives, cut edge knives, deep draw dies, punches and cupping dies.
