Microbial Remediation is the use of microscopic microorganisms to clean-up toxic and/or hazardous materials. Remediation techniques for microbial contamination depend on the surfaces where the contamination exists. The remediation is achieved by using a combination of microbial products that remove hydrocarbon spills, biodegrades organic pollutants, reduce phosphorous levels. These are adding microbial supplements and biostimulants and promote natural soil conditions to achieve remediation. This process of bio-augmentation enhances the viability of all planting, minimizes transplant shock, encourages germination and regrowth to the treated areas. Microbial contamination includes a diverse group of organisms such as fungi, mold, and bacteria. This is depending on the surface of the ductwork where the contamination exists.
