Our GraficBraid™ is braided from specially treated flexible graphite yarn. This flexible graphite yarn is made from exfoliated high purity crystalline mineral graphite (flake graphite). It maintains all characteristics of mineral graphite: heat resistant, chemical resistant, resilient, lubricant, pliable, conformable, and thermal conductive. Our Graflon™ 1200 is a specially engineered yarn combining graphite and PTFE (Teflonr). As both PTFE and graphite are excellent sealing materials, this gives Graflon packing great sealing properties that other products cannot offer. Graflon packing is tough and durable, self-lubricant, heat, and chemical resistant. It also has good thermal conductivity, and very low friction factor.
