Description: The digital moisture meter gives the percentage of moisture content in food grains, tea, wood and chemical. It is robust and handled equipment with chargeable NICD batteries, which has longevity of approximately 4 years. The moisture measurement is done by measuring changes in the electrical properties of the sensing material due to interaction with water molecules. This instrument determines 0 to 80 % of the moisture content. It operates with temperature ranging from 0oC to 70oC and the battery charger used is of 9 V/500 mA. It is available in the dimensions of 80x 145 x 30mm and with 3-1/2 digits LCD display unit. It uses different sensors like cup electrode, needle electrode, and surface electrode. They are used to determine the moisture content for tea, timber, dried leaves, sugar, chemical, paper, yarn, jute, textiles, fur, powered milk, tobacco, coffee, fibers, ayurvedic formulations, rice, wheat, cereals, plywood, wood dust/chips and spices.
