Profile: NeoMetrix Technologies, Inc. specializes in the application of laser based 3D measurement equipment for digitizing, reverse engineering, and computer aided inspection. We convert raw scanned data into surface and parametric solid models. We have completed hundreds of successful projects, from minute mechanical components to entire power plants, and just about everything in between. NDI optical trackers are the centerpiece of NDI's suite of advanced portable coordinate measurement solutions, dynamic motion measurement machines, and handheld laser scanners. With real-time, high-speed target tracking and support for multi-object, 6DOF measurement, the optical tracker brings ease of use to inspection & reverse engineering. Dezignworks is a reverse engineering software tool for collecting data with a digitizing arm directly into a modeler such as SolidWorks, Pro Engineer Wildfire, or Autodesk Inventor sketches. DezignWorks is compatible with Microscribe, Faro, & Romer portable coordinate measurement machines. Reverse engineering is the practice of measuring and recreating the geometry of a physical object. This collected geometry can be used for creating copies of the originals, as a basis for the development of alternate configurations of the object, or to develop new objects that interface with the reverse engineered object. 3D scanning refers to the rapid capture of complex shapes utilizing laser based 3D scanning technology. The 3D scanner emits a laser stripe which sweeps over the part to be scanned. A CCD camera records data points along the length of the strip to capture XYZ data points.
