Description: Special-purpose hot melt adhesives find typical applications in bottle labeling, carton-sealing, heat sealing coating for shrink labels, shoes and shoe components and sprayable hot melt adhesives. Bottle labelling hot melt adhesive is suitable for fixing of labels on PET bottles. This adhesive can be applied on automatic labelling machines, which can label at a rate of 100-200 bottles per minute. The recommended application temperature is between 130°C and140°C. Carton sealing warm melt adhesives can be applied at temperatures of 125°C-135°C and produce powerful bonds. These adhesives perform well in both hot and cold climates and offer extreme thermal stability and lower densities resulting in a longer pot life and increased output per kg of adhesive. These adhesives show a very consistent and stable viscosity and adhere to a wide range of substrates. Due to their aggressive bonding characteristics, less adhesive can be used per application. In order to avoid the slipping of heat shrunk labels on round surfaces, a special water-dispersible heat sealing coating has been developed that can be applied on the inside surface of heat shrink labels using standard gravure machines. Hot melt adhesives with potential for use in construction of sports shoes and helmets as well as temporary attachments of shoe components primarily in the construction of sports shoes have been developed. Sprayable hot melt adhesives can be used for bonding of dissimilar surfaces in applications such as shoes, automobiles, apparels and much more. In most applications rubber-based liquid adhesives can be replaced by sprayable hot melt adhesives.
