Nitriding Treatment

Company: Hagora Techno-Treats

Description: The Sursulf nitriding treatment is offered by Hagora Techno-Treats. Unique features include: Sursulf is the latest surface treatment carried out at 565°C using the chemicals manufactured by Hydromecanique Et Frottement (France) who developed and patented this treatment. Sursulf confers excellent resistance to wear, fatigue, scuffing, and seizure & corrosion simultaneously and without distortion or warpage. It improves the life and performance of engineering components and tools by several folds, increases productivity by minimising breakdowns and maximising the output of machines fitted with Sursulf treated components. It is applicable to any steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, tool steel and even cast iron. Sursulf can successfully replace other surface treatments such as hard chrome plating, case carburising, induction hardening and flame hardening. Advantages include: no distortion or warpage since treatment is carried out at low temperature, excellent resistance to both abrasive as well as adhesive wear and it is maintained even at 600°C. It has a superior fatigue strength due to the introduction of very high residual compressive stresses in the case. It has a self-lubricating surface as a result of reduction in the coefficient of friction and the ability of the surface to retain lubricancy for ever. The surface smoothness remains virtually unaffected by the treatment. It has appreciable resistance to atmospheric and fretting corrosion and cavitations-erosion. It does not require tempering and grinding which are carried out after any conventional hardening. The components are ground and finished to the final size before the treatment. There is no possibility of hard case flaking off or developing surface cracks. This is more effective and economical than any other surface treatment.
