Non-contact torque sensors are designed to detect, and accurately measure the torque forces that are present at the sensing location. The torque forces are measured reliably at any static or dynamic condition of the sensing shaft. The sensing shaft can rotate at any desired speed, in any direction. The sensitivity and signal resolution is directly related to the shaft or tube diameter at the sensor location. An inductive power and data transfer system is used for contactless, air-gap transfer of excitation power and torque output signal. Measured values are continuously transmitted from the rotating shaft back across the air gap to a stationary module.
