Profile: OEP Couplings manufactures a complete line of high-performance shaft couplings. Our shaft couplings are precisely machined from advanced materials using sophisticated machining technology. The couplings' machined subcomponents are produced on CNC Swiss screw machines with live tooling, capable of holding micron tolerances. We offer a complete line of flexible and rigid shaft couplings, consisting of several variations & sub-variations, allowing the customer to select the ideal coupling for their specific application. All couplings are offered in a variety of sizes, accepting inch shafts up to 1.125 inches in diameter and metric shafts up to 30mm in diameter. Oldham couplings can accommodate large radial, small angular, and moderate axial misalignment. They offer peak torque rating and torsional stiffness, homokinetic transmission, very low reactive forces, and are a choice for a flexible coupling in most applications. It protects support bearings by exerting consistently low reactive forces, even under large misalignments. It accommodates large radial misalignment in a short length. Oldham couplings are based on the familiar sliding-disc design and are the common type of zero-backlash flexible coupling. They are ideal for applications that require light reactive loads on bearings, with a sacrificial mechanical fuse function of the coupling's replaceable midsection to protect other devices during overload. Universal joints are used in applications with very large angular misalignment up to 45 degrees with a single joint. They can be used as a linkage, or transmission, between two intentionally misaligned shafts, rather than just as a flexible coupling. They can accommodate extremely large radial misalignments, when used in pairs. Universal joints are used as torque-transmitting linkages over relatively large angular and (in pairs) radial misalignments. We offer miniature UV joints in a variety of bore sizes and materials.
